Olympia Transit Center
Location: Olympia, WA
The project brings forth a state-of-the-art transportation hub, nestled adjacent to the existing transit center in downtown Olympia. Spanning an impressive 11,500 sqft., this new facility is designed as a two-story hybrid structure, blending the best of wood and steel construction techniques. The project is executed in the GC/CM contract format, allowing for efficient project management and collaboration throughout the construction process.
The first floor of the transit center is primarily public facing, offering a range of amenities to enhance the passenger experience. It features a ticketing window, restroom facilities, and a spacious public meeting room and lobby. The second floor has a dedicated office space, alongside an operator lounge and associated amenities.
The project received partial funding through an FTA grant, reflecting its significance in supporting public transportation infrastructure. As such, the project is subject to the rigorous standards of the Buy America Act, ensuring that materials and components used meet the highest quality and compliance requirements.
