YVR Remote Stand Operations – International Terminal

Location: Richmond, British Columbia

As part of the ongoing expansion of YVR and to meet the demand during the Summer months, this project consisted in the construction of a new passenger hold room for International Remote Stand Operations (RSO) departures in the existing YVR Maintenance (MTE) offices on level 2 of Pier D. Loading areas were created on the main circulation roadway in locations around the facility for passengers departing by bus.

The hold room is accessed by a vertical circulation core from the level 3 concourse, consisting of elevators, escalators and a stair. The core is open to level 3 and interconnected with the new hold room on level 2. The seating in the existing area of the vertical core was relocated within the adjacent hold room areas of Pier D.

Graham also completed the Remote Stand Operations facility in the Transborder Terminal, a similar project also intended to address the increased passenger traffic that YVR continues to experience.
