PCS STARS Hangar

Location: Saskatoon, SK

PotashCorp pledged funds to bring emergency air medical service to Saskatchewan. This included t construction of the new PCS/STARS Hangar Project. This project involved the construction of a new 45,251 square foot pre-engineered metal building, with a partial three-storey office, for the storage and maintenance of STARS helicopters and vehicles as well as the Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan jet. The project included a performance-based design and installation of the fire protection system for the hangar and office areas which include a foam water deluge system for the hangar.

The supporting office space aids in the operation of the responding STARS teams and allows the fundraising teams to operate under one roof (STARS operates primarily on fundraising through self-administered lotteries and donations). A section of the third floor was dedicated to dorms, locker rooms, and showers for the responding teams. These dorm rooms allow comfortable lodging for responding and monitoring personnel.
