Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital

The Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital (JPCH) offers state-of-the-art equipment and facilities for children, mothers and families. The 176-bed maternal and children’s hospital offers neonatal intensive care, pediatric intensive care, general pediatrics, pediatric emergency and ambulatory services. Maternal services include labour and delivery, antepartum and postpartum care.

The JPCH involved the construction of a 7-storey concrete structure with a rooftop helipad. The building is attached to the operational Royal University Hospital and existing parkade, and is also adjacent to the University of Saskatchewan campus. The project totals 36,128 sq. m (388,875 sq. ft.) of finished area. The exterior envelope consists of curtain wall, masonry brick, and metal panel cladding and the building has complex mechanical and electrical systems to accommodate new healthcare standards. The new facility helps support the training of future health care professionals, many of whom may who take their classes on campus and receive training at the Royal University Hospital and the Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan.
