Wood Waste & Low Odour Project

Location: Prince Albert, SK

Graham played a major role in a uniquely delivered project at the Weyerhaeuser Prince Albert Pulp and Paper Mill. The Wood Waste & Low Odour Project consisted of installation of a new recovery boiler fueled by waste bark material, a precipitator, and a cogeneration 42 MW gas turbine to provide the mill with almost its entire power supply requirements. The project was completed on budget and ahead of schedule, and without a lost-time accident.

The fast-track project, done without major interruption to the existing plant production, required an open partnering approach to achieve the project goals on safety, quality, schedule, and cost. Graham’s scope included constructability reviews during the design process which helped to bring the entire project in under budget. Graham’s services also included site preparation and underground services, building and equipment foundations, Hog Fuel System foundations, completion of the Control room and architectural finishes, finish grading and mill-wide paving, HVAC, fire protection, building cladding, building roofing, and miscellaneous construction support services.
