Terwillegar Park Footbridge

Location: Edmonton, AB

The 262-metre-long footbridge is the second longest stressed ribbon bridge in the world, and Edmonton is one of two Canadian municipalities to have a structure of this type. A stressed ribbon bridge means that the stressing cables are embedded in the bridge deck, creating a slender and draping effect. The footbridge creates a vital link for pedestrians and cyclists in Edmonton’s North Saskatchewan River Valley.
