Seymour Capilano Filtration Plant Clearwells

North Vancouver, BC

This project included the construction of a 200-million-litre, 160-square-metre reinforced concrete reservoir approximately 8 metres deep, plus an attached post treatment building, large diameter underground piping and services, overflow structures, and settlement ponds.

Graham produced all concrete on site, using its own batch plant together with a fleet of eight ready-mix trucks. The water piping was 108-inch diameter underground steel potable water pipe. It was externally coated, internally lined and installed on-site.

The plant is located in a forest reserve park adjacent to a salmon-bearing river, so special precautions were installed to protect and preserve the sensitive environmental surroundings.
