Revelstoke Schools

The LEED Gold project involved the demolition, design and construction of two new schools on one site along with a high-quality sports fields, playgrounds, pedestrian and cyclist accommodations, on-site public areas with outdoor landscaping, and related traffic infrastructure designed to ensure both schools were independent of one another.
Begbie View Elementary School was built to consolidate two elementary schools in Revelstoke and has capacity for 250 students as well as 80 kindergarten students. The school includes ten classrooms, a kindergarten room, a Special Education space, library, multipurpose space and a gymnasium. Attached to it is a Neighbourhood Learning Centre consisting of an early learning hub, an acrobatic centre and medical amenities.
Revelstoke Secondary School was built to house 500 students. The building features a 275-seat theater, oversized gymnasium, fully equipped library, computer labs, woodwork and automotive shops, art room, drama facility, cafeteria, music room, science labs, home economics area, general student services spaces and classrooms. Also attached to the secondary school is a Neighbourhood Learning Centre that includes a community theatre and a health service facility for at-risk-youth.
