High Street Development
Location: Abbotsford, British Columbia
High Street is an urban lifestyle open air shopping centre anchored by Wal-Mart Supercentre, London Drugs, Marshalls, Old Navy and Cineplex VIP Cinemas.
The project was constructed utilizing a tiered retail program with large retailers on one level, and high-end retailers on a different level. The scope of this project included the construction of a multi-level, twelve building development which spans over 20 acres including 80 shops and restaurants, theatre, public spaces, and more than 1,800 parking stalls – in both structured and open podium-level parking.
The development’s compact design offers a higher density than traditional regional retail projects. The goal of the development was to bring urban lifestyle shopping to the region. High Street has transformed Abbotsford into a shopping destination for those in the surrounding Fraser Valley.
Built adjacent to the Trans Canada Highway 1, the mall is in a highly visible location that sees more than 70,000 cars a day. This project achieved LEED® Bronze certification which made it one of the first in Canada for a large-scale retail project.
