Rhapsody Project Hits Two Major Milestones

July 30, 2020

Graham’s Rhapsody project hit two major milestones over the past 30 days. First, commercial retail occupancy was granted on June 30 for both the main floor and P1 parkade, allowing retail tenants to begin moving in. The building’s anchor tenant, Save-on-Foods, is busy preparing to open in the coming weeks, followed by Market Wines, Pet Planet, ScotiaBank with many more on the way.

The second major milestone was hit on July 29, when the West Tower – 157 residential apartments, four amenity rooms, the courtyard and P2 parkade – was granted residential occupancy. Beginning on July 31, 2020, the first four tenants will move in, with another 10 already signed up to move in throughout August and September!

The pandemic presented many challenges for the Rhapsody project, including a signicantly reduced project workforce, all while the team was already working within tight timelines. Despite these obstacles, the project team worked hard to maintain schedule, while also implementing safety measures to reduce the risk of COVID-19 onsite. This diligence and dedication enabled the project team to achieve these two significant milestones as scheduled.

Rhapsody, is a mixed-use residential and commercial facility located in the amenity-rich University District, with direct access to the foothills, Children’s Hospital, University of Calgary and numerous shopping, dining and transit conveniences. Gracorp, a merchant-style, private market real estate developer in Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto, is a subsidiary of Graham and the sole owner/developer of the project. Rhapsody is scheduled for completion in spring 2021.
