North Central BRT Rapid Transit Projects Awarded to Graham

January 23, 2024

Graham is pleased to announce it has been awarded the North Central BRT Rapid Transit projects by the City of Calgary. These projects play a crucial role in the Green Line enabling works, serving as short-term initiatives to enhance transit traffic and facilitate lane re-alignments to meet the future requirements of the Green Line LRT works.

The scope of the project includes a range of new construction activities along Center Street, stretching from 28th Avenue to Country Hills Blvd at nine distinct construction sites. These activities involve roadworks, utilities, earthworks, concrete foundations, and the installation of bus enclosure systems.

We are proud to announce that Graham will be acting as the General Contractor for the project, overseeing the self-perform works on the bus stations. This undertaking requires collaborative efforts and coordination with various other trades to ensure the seamless execution of the entire project.

Noteworthy is the distinctive design of the bus stations, incorporating cross-laminated timber and structural steel in the roof assembly construction. Given the dense urban location of the project, close coordination among all involved parties is paramount for success.

Construction is set to commence in April 2024, with substantial completion targeted for July 2025. We look forward to embarking on this significant project and appreciate the support of our valued partners and stakeholders.
