This past November, teams across Graham let their facial hair grow in support of men’s health. With participants from Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary and Winnipeg, Graham collectively raised over $18,000 for Movember.
The Calgary team raised over $1,300 and Winnipeg doubled their initial goal to raise over $5,000. The Vancouver team shattered their goal of $8,500 and raised close to $11,000! The Edmonton team did things a little differently and raised $1,000 through fundraising and by purchasing Movember masks (allowing women to rock a mo’ too).
Established in 2003, Movember has grown substantially to become the leading charity changing the face of men’s health. Fathers, sons, brothers, uncles, grandfathers and partners are dying too young and Movember aims to reduce the number of premature deaths by tackling the three biggest health issues for men: mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
