Keswick Water Pollution Control Plant Expansion

The project consisted of construction of the following structures and their related equipment: a new headworks building, including two vortex grit removal chambers; a new generator building and substation; a new aeration tank; two new secondary clarifiers; a new RAS/WAS pumping station; a new Microscreening (reverse osmosis filtration) and UV treatment building; a new odour control biofilter; upgrades to the equipment in the existing aeration tanks; upgrades to the equipment in the existing clarifiers; modifications to the existing administration building, including removal of the existing chlorine facility; and modifications to the existing sludge handling facility.
The construction was carried out in multiple stages to ensure that the operations of the existing plant were uninterrupted; ensuring that construction did not impact the quality of the discharged water.
