Ile a la Crosse Joint Use Facility

Location: Ile a la Crosse, SK

This three-storey, 11,500 sq. m. (123,784 sq. ft.) multi-use facility houses a high school, health and long-term care centre, and community services for the remote northern village of Ile a la Crosse.

The health section of the building includes an emergency department; 11 bed hospital; 17 bed long-term care wing; radiology and lab services; public and mental health services; and family healing centre. The new hospital serves the remote northwest Saskatchewan communities from Canoe Lake to Buffalo Narrows to Patuanak.

The school features a large gymnasium with spectator seating; industrial arts classrooms and labs; performing arts space; and classrooms for grades 7 through 12. Also included are two general instruction classrooms for post-secondary training.

Meeting rooms, a day care centre, adult education, community recreation and a space for community elders and spiritual counselling are among the many other features of this unique facility.
