Building Bridges Recognition

The Building Bridges program, facilitated by our Indigenous Relations team, has been developed to acknowledge and celebrate teams and individuals on their positive actions that contribute to the improvement and/or advancement of Graham’s relations with Indigenous people, communities and businesses.

We’re excited to share that Meghan Damaj, Supply Chain Management Team Lead, has been nominated and recognized for her drive and initiative to improve relationships with Indigenous vendors. While based in our Calgary office, Meghan works with Indigenous vendors across western Canada for our Services division.

Adam Reichl, Meghan’s manager, nominated her for this recognition:

“Meghan leaps at the chance to get involved with any opportunities to enhance her understanding or promote engagement with our Indigenous partners. She has become the champion of supporting and promoting Indigenous engagement within the Services division’s Supply Chain Management. Meghan goes out of her way to not only be patient but actively work with newer companies to meet Graham’s vendor requirements, empowering future success for the business.”

As Meghan’s award demonstrates, Building Bridges recognition focuses on initiatives and actions by individuals and teams that move us forward on our path towards reconciliation. Some of those ways include:

  • Building Trust: Actions or initiatives that create respectful relationships by building and sustaining trust between Graham and Indigenous employees, communities and businesses.
  • Strengthening Relationships: Actions or initiatives that positively contribute to Graham’s relationships with Indigenous communities in the regions where we work.
  • Enhancing Respect and Understanding: Actions and initiatives that foster genuine understanding, knowledge and respect for Indigenous history, culture and traditions.
  • Creating Employment and Career Opportunities: Actions and initiatives that create equitable, safe spaces for Indigenous employees, create opportunities for career growth, provide mentoring and support and remove barriers for advancement.
  • Facilitating Business Development: Actions and initiatives that open doors for Indigenous-owned businesses to work on Graham projects by enhancing capacity and/or developing capabilities.
