Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre

Location: Aldergrove, British Columbia

The Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre was designed and built to offer various recreational services to a diverse and growing community, including outdoor spaces featuring a cheerful waterpark with a wave pool, lazy river, waterslides, aqua spray pad, covered 6-lane lap pool, leisure pool and hot tub. The indoor spaces include an NHL-sized ice arena, indoor running track, fitness centre, sauna / steam rooms, change rooms and multipurpose community spaces.

The 700,000 sq. ft., two-storey building is a tilt-up concrete structure with several wooden features incorporated to match the exterior pool canopy. It also incorporates various sustainable features in the design and operation including recycled timber and rainwater harvesting. The pools are heated by a BTU boiler plant, solar panels, and excess energy produced by cooling the arena’s ice rink.

The Township of Langley hosted a Grand Opening on Canada Day 2018 celebrating the inauguration of this remarkable facility.
