That’s a wrap on the Hockey Marathon for the Kids!
Over the course of 12 days, 43 players volunteered their time to raise money and awareness for the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation by trying to beat the Guinness Book of World Records for playing the most consecutive hours of hockey.
The team beat the World Record and played 262 consecutive hours of hockey, while also raising a total of $1.5 million for the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation! The funds raised will go towards finding new cures for cancer to ensure that every child has a chance at surviving the horrible disease.
Our VP of IT and Enterprise Applications, Matt Gramblicka, personally contributed 102 volunteer hours during the Hockey Marathon and raised $90,239 – over $65,000 more than his original $25,000 fundraising goal!
Congratulations to Matt and the other players for their incredible contributions to such a great cause!
