Amazon YVR7 Fulfillment Centre

The new 202,000 sq. ft. Amazon facility project comprised a retrofit of an old food storage building into a new 202,000 sq. ft. Amazon Fulfillment Centre and the scope of work involved lead paint abatement off steel trusses, columns & web joists, upgrade of structural steel to support new RTUs, major electrical upgrades, installation of state-of-the-art material handling equipment, and fit out of 17,000 sq. ft. of new office space.

This seemingly simple project turned out to be quite challenging, with 80% of the design changing in the four months preceding the “go-live” date! Additionally, $8 million worth of design changes were added, including the removal and replacement of an asbestos containing roof.

The Graham team managed to plan their work strategically, working 20 hours daily, 7 days a week and met the original Amazon “go-live” date of September 15th, 2021 completing all the base contract and the additional changes on schedule.
