Teck Coal Truck Shop Expansion
Location: Elkford, BC
This project comprised the design and construction of a facility equipped to handle Teck Coal’s 400-ton hauling trucks. Included was the addition of four service bays, two manipulator bays, two wash bays equipped with high-pressure washing systems, one mechanical room, one electrical room, mezzanine offices, and connecting corridors to the pre-existing truck shop. The building consists of a structural steel frame, metal cladding, spray urethane roofing, elevator, 75-ton cranes, overhead doors in excess of 50-feet high, and a building height of 80 feet.
This design was one of the largest post-tensioning projects in Canada and was completed successfully and without incident.
