1568 Alberni Residential Tower

Designed by world-renowned architect Kengo Kuma, this 43-storey landmark residential tower within Vancouver’s skyline features an aesthetically appealing design with two concave sides resulting in an iconic silhouette. With 181 luxury units, the building also includes eight levels of underground parking, CRU space and amenities including a gym, pool, sauna, play area, public art, wine cellar, restaurant and more. The exterior building envelope features a triple glazed, low iron glass curtain wall system custom designed and manufactured specifically for the project. The main atrium showcases a 5-storey glazed entrance complete with a moss garden amphitheater and a custom Kigumi wood ceiling. Graham provided ongoing design-assist services, including design workshops with the consultants from Japan along with key subcontractors such as mechanical, electrical and envelope to provide value engineering and constructability input. On-site construction activities commenced with the removal of hazardous materials and the demolition of an existing building. |
